We need your help

The Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) are key to the success of Tyrewise, providing specialist advice on Key Performance Indicators that will measure the success of our mahi. Representing each part of the supply chain, the Groups act as a sounding board for the Trustees and Project Managers.

 

The Group will give advice to the Trustees on:

  • setting incentives (price list) based on market conditions; and
  • new technology / processes / investments entering the market.

This Technical Advisory Group will also work with the Grants Technical Advisory Group and the programme manager on targeted R&D funding rounds.

Reporting: Chair of Group reports to Chair of PSO
Time commitment: Meet 2 x per year (face-to-face)

The Group will:

  • Review completed funding applications prepared by the programme manager;
  • Make recommendations for more information about an application to the programme manager; and
  • Make recommendations to Trustees for awarding funding based on prepared application.

This Technical Advisory Group will work with the Product and End Markets Technical Advisory Group and the programme manager on targeted R&D funding rounds.

Reporting: Chair of Group reports to Chair of PSO
Time commitment: Meet 2 x per year (face-to-face)

The Group will give advice to the Trustees on:

  • Innovative products entering the market which may impact on the scheme (positive and negative; in and out of current scope of scheme);
  • Import trends which could indicate an increase or reduction in funding through fees on regulated tyres; and
  • Technical advice, in association with the programme managers, as it relates to the importation declaration process and interface with NZTA and Ministry for the Environment.

Reporting: Chair of Group reports to Chair of PSO

Time commitment: Meet 2 x per year (face-to-face)

The Group will give advice to the Trustees on:

  • Changes in transport capacity which may impact on the scheme (positive and negative);
  • Technical advice, in association with the programme managers, as it relates to the transport and delivery of oversize and non-standard tyre deliveries.

Reporting: Chair of Group reports to Chair of PSO
Time commitment: Meet 2 x per year (face-to-face)

The Group will give advice to the Trustees on:

  • The effectiveness of the fees on regulated tyres and have input into quantum review; and
  • A review of recommendations on the fees (or similar) for non-motorised vehicles (see 6).

Please note, this committee is not likely to meet until late 2024.

TAG Representatives:

  • Chair of each TAG
  • Chief Executive, Programme Manager(s)
  • Trustees
  • Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
  • Government appointed representative (this is still to be confirmed)

Time commitment: Meet 1 x per year (face-to-face) prior to AGM (or similar function where auditors are appointed and a report on scheme performance is presented to Ministry for the Environment.

This Group will cover Scope Two tyres, such as those for use on bicycles and non-motorised equipment, plus coils for retreading tyres. Consultation on bringing these tyres into the scheme is expected late 2024.
