Ending tyre waste
Ka nui tēnā Aotearoa – enough is enough.
Whether you’re sitting behind the wheel or driving the invention of new products from end-of-life tyres, we all have our part to play in ending tyre waste in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Currently, many end-of-life tyres are wasted – approximately 4 million annually end up in landfill, are stockpiled, or dumped, where they pose a threat to our environment through fire or toxic leachate.
Together, we can make a difference.
It couldn't be easier
Current ad hoc disposal fees are being replaced by a tyre stewardship fee. The tyre stewardship fee will be paid when a tyre is bought, and Tyrewise will take care of it at the end of its life.
You will simply leave it with your registered tyre seller or fitter when you replace it, or at registered public collection points (up to five tyres at a time).
Tyrewise will take care of the rest and your old tyres will get a second life, instead of being wasted. It couldn’t be easier.
