West Auckland residents are frustrated that it’s cheaper to dump tyres and risk fines than it is to dispose of them properly.
Laingholm resident Charlotte Moore was “gobsmacked” to discover three piles of tyres – two on Laingholm Drive and one “massive pile” on Huia Rd near Titirangi Village.
The hundreds of tyres have since been cleared at ratepayers’ expense.
