Tyrewise gets green light to begin operating late 2023

New Zealand will see it’s first nationwide regulated product stewardship scheme for end-of-life tyres begin operating in late 2023.

This comes as after Auto Stewardship New Zealand Limited’s (ASNZ) was awarded $1.2 million from the Waste Minimisation Fund – Te Pūtea Whakamauru Para. ASNZ is the product stewardship organisation that governs Tyrewise.

Mark Gilbert, Chair of ASNZ says the funding means Tyrewise can move forward. “We can now get started on creating the practical building blocks that will enable Tyrewise to begin operation next year.”
